Agrifood / Biotech Visiting Analyst (Scientific Background)

What will you be doing?

• Evaluate startup pitch decks and present recommendations in weekly investment team meetings
• Map markets and source data to support deal flow and investment decisions
• Support market research efforts to generate new sector insights and develop investment theses
• Contribute across the fund as needed, we're scaling rapidly and value versatility

• Excellent communicator, able to express ideas and viewpoints in a compelling way

Essential:

• Recently graduated with a PhD/MSc or in final year of PhD/MSc degree (e.g. biochemistry, biotechnology, food technology, bioinformatics, agronomy or similar)
• Strong analytical skill set
• Passionate around addressing climate change and forming a regenerative world
• Supportive of diverse opinions and able to constructively challenge viewpoints
• Fluent in English, with another European language a plus
• You are reliable according to § 1 (20) no. 1 - 3 of the German Anti Money Laundering Act

Desirable:

• Experience in a fast paced environment like VC, startup, banking or consulting
• Experience in the startup ecosystem and in directly interacting with entrepreneurs
• Climate related technical knowledge or experience in one of our key verticals
• Financial modelling or investment analysis experience

• A senior member of staff will be your mentor at the World Fund. They will be a part of your professional development and coach you to build on your skills in venture capital
• Whilst working with us, you are a full part of our team and the World Fund family, and so will be joining us at our week-long strategic ‘offsites’ and team meetings
